Meet Matt Fischer. He is an exceptionally kind, gentle man who adores his children Madeline (age 7) and Charlie (age 6) - whom he and Ilona, his wife adopted as infants. He is a development manager, who builds software for hospital information systems. Nothing holds him down. He never misses a day of work, nor a chance to support his kids.
Matt is in end-stage kidney failure. His kidneys are functioning at 5% and his Creatinine is over 10. His other organs are in danger, picking up the slack, especially his heart. If he has a heart attack, a real possibility, he's off the kidney transplant list. The wait on the transplant list is 3 or more years. Dialysis means closing of arteries and blood vessels and higher risk of heart attack. Matt needs kidney transplant ASAP.
Living donation is a voluntary gift of one kidney (we only need one) by a person who is able. Donors are thoroughly tested to ensure a SAFE and HEALTHY outcome for both the Donor and the Recipient. All medical expenses, travel, lodging and time lost at work will be covered.
Matt can receive a kidney from an A or O donor. The transplant will take place at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville – one of the leading healthcare facilities in the world. Please contantact Christine Schneider, Mayo Clinic Living Kidney Donor Coordinator at (904) 956-3249 or click button below.
